Chicken Cacciatore

Tonight me and my esteemed dancing buddy Lauren made some amazing chicken cacciatore and polenta; which is a classic Italian dish.  It is comprised of chicken, mushrooms, rosemary, tomatoes, and white wine.  These all combine in a stew pot to form a delicious sauce and very tender marinated chicken served on top of the polenta.

p.s. it was divine :)

Some Old Some New

Hey everyone I was digging through an older sketchbook and found some sketches of people I did a while ago.  Its funny looking at them now since they took about 15 to 20 minutes each from photos off of the satorialist.  I'm pretty sure I could do much better, and take less time, after all the life drawing classes :)  The other drawings are concepts for ships, and finally a few pages from my current sketchbook.

The First Sketches of Summer

So my latest sketch book is a fabriano sketch journal.  It has lots and lots of toned paper, which has proved interesting.  It is great since every ten pages it switches colors.  This aspect keeps things fresh; and forces me to try new approaches to get the most out of the particular tone.  So far it is great with ink, and colored pencil.  Standard graphite and charcoal are a little lack luster however.  The texture of the paper makes it hard to get a very solid continuous tone.  These sketches are from various dance events, nature, and avila valley barn.  enjoy!
